You've probably noticed: vitiligo isn't asking for permission anymore.

The shift isn't just in labs or lecture halls — it's in culture. Art, fashion, music, film, books. Our community is walking into rooms where shame once kept us out. It's a creative uprising with a real origin story to tell.

In 2014, Chandigarh did something brave: it gave the World Vitiligo Day movement a soul. Twelve years later — after the high-tech brilliance in Toronto this summer — we're returning to the spiritual capital of a truly global campaign.

World Vitiligo Day 2026 moves HQ to Chandigarh, India (June 23–29) under the honorary presidency of Prof. Davinder Parsad, with Dr. Pujita Saini leading on the ground.

Theme: From Stigma to Strength.
Rallying call: Many Shades, One Voice.

This isn't nostalgia. It's continuity. Progress doesn't circle back; it spirals upward.

The main WVD-2026 congress aligns with the ISD Regional Meeting. We're bringing top dermatology minds — vitiligo front and center — into one room. In 2014, more than 800 doctors gathered at PGIMER in one day. Can we top that? Hopefully, yes — we'll go further in reach and impact.

Street parade? Maybe — weather willing.

In June 2025, World Vitiligo Day reached over 150 million screens worldwide. That's Mexico's population learning about vitiligo in a single week. Can we do better? We'll try.

After the congress winds down, we shift gears.

Patient advocates, creative minds, physicians, and wellness gurus will gather for an optional post-congress program in Goa — where the pace slows and the listening deepens.

This isn't another lecture hall. It's about community empowerment, creative expression, and holistic well-being.

Where a dermatologist might see differently through a photographer's lens. Where a patient might realize their story is already art.

Science gets its moment in Chandigarh.
